The New Brunswick Premier Soccer League kicked-off its first official season in the summer of 2011 after an exhibition league 2010. Now entering its seventh season, the league has undergone many changes over its existence.

The 2017 season has all four men teams returning from the 2016 season plus the NB and PEI Canada Games and teams will play a home and away schedule ,  The Challenge Cup playoffs will take place between the three NB based teams with the winner playing Thanksgiving weekend for the Challenge Cup National Championship.

The 2017 woman’s division will feature three NB senior teams plus the NB and PEI Canada Games and teams will play a home and away schedule with the senior teams will play each other three times. The NBPSL will be sending a team to the Jubilee Cup Nationals Championship with the Fredericton Picaroons Reds making the commitment to attend the tournament.  The three senior teams will still play a playoff to crown the New Brunswick Jubilee Champion beforehand.

Matt Forster

League Administrator

Matthew Forster is currently in his sixth season as league administrator for McCain NBPSL.  In the past, he has managed the West Region Soccer League and the Fredericton Senior Soccer Leagues.  He currently sits on the board of directors at the Fredericton District Soccer Association and is the chair of the Wanderers Development Group.

He has played for the Wanderers Soccer Club for over ten years and has won two Van Horn Cups as a player coach with the club.  In addition, Matt was an assistant coach with the Wanderers team that participated in senior nationals in 2014.  Matthew is currently an assistant coach at St. Thomas University with the men’s soccer team.  He has also had experience coaching soccer at Albert Street Middle School and Fredericton High School.

Matt holds a Bachelor degree in Recreation and Sport Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree, with a concentration in physical education, and is currently a Masters of Arts in Sport and Recreation candidate. His education has given him a diverse background in sport and management.

Ryan MacVicar

League Treasurer

Originally from Prince Edward Island and currently residing in Fredericton, Ryan MacVicar joined the McCain NBPSL Board as treasurer in early 2016. Ryan has enjoyed soccer his whole life, playing for youth and senior teams in his native PEI, through to university and various senior leagues in New Brunswick.

In more recent years Ryan has begun to transition from playing into the coaching and administrative side of the sport. Along with functioning as treasurer of the NBPSL, Ryan is a member of the Fredericton Wanderers Development Group, a coach in the FDSA youth system, assistant coach for the St. Thomas University Men’s Soccer team, and once in a while still laces up in the local Masters league.
